Review Cards for Holiday Lets & Serviced Apartments

Review cards and tap-to-review signs for holiday lets, serviced apartments and short-term rentals. Guests scan or tap once and land straight on your Airbnb, Booking.com, Google or Trustpilot review page — before they have even left the property.

Reviews are your occupancy rate

For most local businesses, reviews influence whether someone walks in. For a holiday let, reviews are the product listing. Airbnb ranks partly on review score and review volume. Booking.com displays your score before it displays your photos. A property sitting on 4.6 with nine reviews will lose booking after booking to an identical property on 4.9 with sixty.

And unlike a café, you only get one shot per guest. A stay might be the only interaction you ever have with that person. If they leave without reviewing, that review is gone permanently.

Why the automated review request is not enough

Airbnb and Booking.com both send an automated prompt after checkout. It lands in an inbox two days later, alongside everything else, when the guest is back at work and no longer thinking about your property. Response rates are exactly what you would expect.

The moment a guest is most likely to leave a five-star review is while they are still in the property — coffee in hand on the last morning, bags by the door, feeling good about the stay. A small sign on the worktop or a card by the bed catches them at exactly that moment. One tap, review box open, done in twenty seconds.

Where to put them

  • Kitchen worktop or coffee machine — “Loved your stay? Tap to review.” Catches them on the final morning.
  • Bedside table — alongside the welcome pack and house information.
  • Welcome folder or hamper — first thing they see on arrival, so it registers before checkout.
  • By the door or key drop — the literal last thing they touch on the way out.
  • Reception desk — for serviced apartment blocks and aparthotels with a staffed front desk.
  • Staff lanyards — for housekeeping and property managers doing in-person checkouts.

Most hosts we work with use two or three placements per property. The cards are inexpensive enough that covering every room costs less than a single lost booking.

Built for multi-property portfolios

If you run more than one property, each unit can carry its own card linked to its own listing — so reviews land against the right property every time. We can also produce them in a consistent house style across a whole portfolio, which matters if you are building a recognisable brand rather than a set of unrelated listings.

Which platform should you point guests to?

It depends where your bookings come from and what you are trying to build.

  • Airbnb or Booking.com — best if the platform drives most of your bookings and you are optimising for listing rank.
  • Google — best if you are trying to build direct bookings. Google reviews attach to your own business, not to a platform that takes 15% and owns the relationship.
  • Dual setup — guests get a simple choice screen. Common for hosts who want platform rank and direct-booking visibility at the same time.

If you are not sure, most hosts building toward direct bookings are better served pointing at Google. We can talk it through before you order.

One important note on review policy

Airbnb, Booking.com, Google and Trustpilot all prohibit incentivising reviews or selectively soliciting only happy guests. A ReviewCue card is fine because it is shown to every guest and does not filter by sentiment — you are making reviewing easier, not buying reviews. Keep it that way: display the card openly, do not offer discounts or perks in exchange, and never screen guests before deciding who sees it.
